LOCKNEY—Domingo Hernandez, age 81, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home in Lockney surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022, at San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney. Interment followed at the Lockney Cemetery.
Rosary was recited at 6 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Lockney.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.
Domingo “Apa” Alvarez Hernandez was born November 10, 1940 to Juan and Victoria Hernandez in San Marcos, Texas.
He met and married the love of his life, Joventina Delgado, on December 16, 1958 in Lockney. Domingo worked, for a large part of his life, as a maintenance supervisor for a seed company. He was a longtime member of the San Jose de Calasanz Catholic Church and was a cursista sagrado corazon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joventina; his parents, Juan and Victoria Hernandez; and two brothers, Ralph and Marcelino.
Those left to cherish Domingo’s memory are his children: his sons, Edward Hernandez, Domingo Hernandez, Jr., Dickie (Rosalie) Hernandez and James Hernandez, all of Lockney, Robert (Jovita) Hernandez of Amarillo, and Mike (Christina) Hernandez of San Antonio; his daughters, Anita (Raul) Cisneros, Sr. of Austin, Dolores (Francisco) Mendez of Kyle, Gloria (Johnny) Cerbantez of Plainview, Melissa Lopez, Rosa (Samuel) Salazar and Nicole Hernandez (Ricardo Luna), all of Lockney; 42 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren; along with his brothers, Felix and Mario, and his sisters, Dominga Sustaita, Juana Palomin and Ignacia Ochoa.
