Body STAFF REPORTS The 2026 Floyd County “Beat the Heat” Pickleball Tournament was held at the Unity Center at Muncy on Saturday June 20. The event was hosted by the Floyd County Family and Community Health Commission.

Body The Floydada Little Leage All-Star teams competed in Tahoka, New Home, and Crosbyton for their All-Star Tournaments.Floydada competed against other teams from District 38 for a chance to advance to the Sectionals Tournament.

Body The Texas Little League District 38 baseball all-star tournaments began on June 13. The baseball teams from across the South Plains gathered in Tahoka and Idalou for an opportunity to compete in the district tournament.The tournaments are played in a double-elimination format.

Body The Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) Standing Committee on Athletics has approved its staff to conduct a superintendent survey about a proposal to implement girls flag football as a sanctioned sport.

Body The Floydada Little League baseball and softball All-Star teams are scheduled to begin tournament action on Saturday, June 13. Texas West District 38 released the All-Star tournament brackets on June 5.
