Ann McCormick, age 88, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 in her home in Lockney, Texas. She was just shy of her 70th wedding anniversary by five days to her husband, Bobby.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Lockney Cemetery in Lockney.

Visitation was held at 3 p.m. through 5 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Lockney.

Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.

Ann was born on June 17, 1935, to Paul and Lillian Cooper in Lockney, Texas.

Ann graduated Lockney High School in 1953. Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Bobby McCormick, on February 20, 1954. They shared the love of fishing and trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico, as well as family vacations to Red River, New Mexico.

Ann enjoyed cooking for her family, including wonderful desserts. Ann’s personal joy were her two daughters, Janet and Joann, as well as her two granddaughters and her four great-granddaughters.

She loved to garden and do yard work and to just enjoy the peace of the outdoors. Playing weekly bridge was something she so enjoyed.

She had the neverending desire to serve the Lord with her music ministry. Ann was both an organist and pianist for the Methodist church in Lockney for six decades. She also ministered on Wednesday mornings with music at the Lockney Care Center for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Paul Cooper.

Ann is survived by her husband, Bobby McCormick; two daughters, Janet Wells and husband, Tommy, and Joann Carthel and husband, Dart; two granddaughters, Tobi Boedeker and husband, Jimmy, and Elizabeth Guerrero and husband, Joey; four great-granddaughters, Alexxa Lohn, Jackie Plant, and Kennedy and Isabella Guerrero.

She will be missed by many other friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Methodist Church in Lockney or the charity of your choice.
