Body Annual membership dues for the Center for 2022 are now due and can be sent to the Center. Membership fee remains the same at $30 per year per person. Membership fees go directly into our building and maintenance fund and are essential for continuing operations.

Body The Center is now open three days a week. We are serving lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We offer dinein, carry-out or delivery. On Wednesdays we will be selling meals to go for $5. Meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays are $7.

1956 Study Club holds Christmas celebration meeting

Body The parlor of the First Baptist Church was filled with songs of Christmas when the members of the 1956 Study Club met for their December meeting. Hostesses for the meeting were Judy Schacht and Charline Hendrix, who provided a light supper and dessert.

Fire destroys Floydada residence

Body The Floydada Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene of a house fire on Sunday, Jan. 2. The home was located in the 600 block of Main Street. Floydada fire chief Chad Guthrie said the fire started around 11 a.m.

Body Wayland Baptist University and the Plainview/Hale County Economic Development Commission are seeking applicants for the NexGen Spark Business competition coming up in spring 2022. The grand prize is $5,000 that can be used to bring the business idea to reality.
