PLAINVIEW— Mar ia Luisa Blanco, aged 89, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and faithful servant of her Heavenly Father, passed into her eternal life in heaven on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in Plainview, Texas.
She was born a Valentine’s baby on February 14, 1934, to Paublo and Teresa Suarez in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Maria Luisa is survived by her children, Chavela Nolan and her husband, Roy, Rodolfo Blanco Jr., and his wife, Rita, Carmen Luna and her husband, Tony, Ruth Tapia and her husband, Israel, Fidel Blanco and his wife, Rosie, Pastor Moses Blanco, Veronica Evans and her husband, David, Daisey Rhodes and her husband, Phillip, along with 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is being welcomed by our Heavenly Father into heaven, and reunited with her beautiful daughters, Margaret Blanco Cerda and Kema Crystal Blanco.
Being the youngest of her family, she is now enjoying love and laughter with her beloved brothers and sisters in heaven. And of course, her most highly anticipated reunion is with her husband, Rodolfo Blanco Sr.
Maria Luisa married the love of her life, Rodolfo Sr., on August 27, 1950 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and in 1952 they began calling Lockney, Texas, their home. Together they lived a life of service and commitment to their church, beginning at Primera Iglesia Bautista and then Iglesia Templo Bautista Salem, where they were members and a faithful cornerstone for over 50 years.
Rodolfo and Maria Luisa shared a beautiful marriage of laughter, dedication, and a Christ-centered love that will leave a lasting legacy to cherish, and an example to strive for what will be shared for generations to come. After the loss of her husband of 70 years in 2020, she was at peace knowing that she would be with her beloved again in the kingdom of heaven to enjoy all of the blessings that God has promised because of their faithfulness to His word.
Her crown of glory will bear many jewels. She was loved, admired, cherished, and adored by her family and friends because of her servant heart to those that God placed in her path. Her children were the center of her world, and she enjoyed welcoming anyone into her home and embracing them as her family. She treasured her role as a woman of faith in this life to make everyone always feel a sense of belonging and love. She ensured that they were well fed and that no one ever left hungry. Whether that need may have been an appetite for the food shared at the table or the spiritual filling that may have been desired, she was going to be sure that no one left the Blanco home without the love necessary to face a brighter day.
Maria Luisa worked in the Lockney Elementary School as a cafeteria assistant for more than two decades, furthering her love for people and her desire to serve in any way possible. She loved seeing the children and helping to know that they were comforted with a meal before beginning their day.
Her laugh, smile, hugs, blessings, prayers, tenderness, and countless unique qualities that made Maria Luisa truly special will forever be missed.
