Bill Carthel passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Silverton Community Center with Bill Smith officiating.
Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Every person has a hero, a role model, a festive time to remember… that would be our family reflecting on the life of our Bill Carthel, “Pop” to the grands and greatgrands. He could pitch a winning baseball game, throw a horseshoe, catch a fish, guide a hunt, or just give a big hug—Bill was the one!
He was quiet, humble, appreciative of life and the joy of nature watching and feeding deer out of his hand. He marveled at sunsets and accomplishments of others—our hero—our gentle giant of a man—Bill Carthel. Now he is “out yonder”! 4-16-45 to 1-9-23 Bill is survived by wife, Pat Carthel, of Silverton and Lubbock, Texas, son Thad Carthel and wife, Jennifer, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter Tania Halbleib and husband, Darin, of Amarillo, Texas; one granddaughter, Kenady Castillo and husband, JJ, of Clovis, New Mexico, and three grandsons, Jagar Halbleib and wife, Kristin, of Clovis, New Mexico, Billy Carthel of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jeffrey Carthel of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Leighton and Liam Castillo; and one sister, Patsy Havis and husband, Glen, of Granbury, Texas.
