Elizabeth Trevino Garza, age 58, known by friends and family as “Liz,” passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Floydada with Pastor Gilbert Flores officiating.
Interment followed at the Floyd County Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the care of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Liz was born on September 1, 1967, in Lockney, Texas. She had a servant’s heart and found great joy in caring for others. She loved cooking for family and friends and was deeply devoted to the residents she cared for through her work. She built meaningful relationships with each of them, treating them with kindness, compassion, and love. They quickly became like family to her.
Above all else, Liz’s greatest love was her family…especially her grandchildren. They were her whole world. She never missed an opportunity to support them, whether it was attending their sporting events, school programs or other special moments. She made sure they always knew they were loved and always did everything she could to provide for them. The memories she created with them will be forever treasured.
Liz was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jessica Landin; her father, Rodolfo Trevino, Sr.; her mother, Francisca Trevino; and her mother-in-law, Candelaria S. Garza.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Oscar Garza of Floydada; her son, Oscar Garza, III (Jana); her daughters, Blanca (Larry) and Esmeralda (Elias); her ten cherished grandchildren, Kaley, Aiden, Katie, TJ, Aubri, Jeremiah, Liam, Logan, Ellie and Mya; along with two sisters and five bothers and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Liz’s love, strength, and selfless spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
