Jose Luis Bernal, age 58, of Lockney, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Lockney. Rev. Salvador Bernal officiated. Interment followed at the Lockney Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 1 to 6 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023. A service followed at 7 p.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Lockney. Arrangements were under the personal care of MooreRose Funeral Home.
Jose Luis Bernal was born on November 1, 1964 in Tepezalá, Ags., Mexico to Luis Bernal and Francisca Castorena.
He met and married the love of his life, Eva Reyes, on December 19, 1981 in Plainview.
He had many interests and hobbies, but greatest of all, he enjoyed spending his time with his family. He was his grandchildren’s biggest fan in all of their activities. He was also a Dallas Cowboys fan, and a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Lockney.
Jose is preceded in death by his father Luis Bernal.
Those left to cherish the memory of Jose are his wife, Eva Bernal of Lockney; two sons, Luis Manuel Bernal and wife, Vanessa, of Hale Center and Jeremiah Bernal and wife, Jocelyn, of Plainview; one daughter, Lorena and husband, Brandon Alvis, of Lockney; seven grandchildren, Malaki Alvis, Bo Alvis, Easton Alvis, X’Zavien J. Bernal, Dallas K. Bernal, Emeril H. Bernal and Nova J. Bernal; his mother, Francisca Castorena of Lockney; four brothers, Salvador Bernal and wife, Dalia, of Vernon, Ricardo Bernal of Lockney, Jorge Bernal of Plainview, and Javier Bernal of Lockney; seven sisters, San Juana and husband, Sammy Silva, of Lockney, Angelica and husband, Tony Salazar, of Lockney, Patricia and husband, J.R. Walker, of Lockney, Rosio Reyes of Lockney, Cecilia and husband, Ysef Alvarado, of Lockney, LuLu and husband, Rigo Ascencio, of Lockney, and Elisa and husband, Ronnie Perez, of Lockney.
