Body Over 60 years ago, Ed Hammond decided to open a business in Floydada. Today—and a few owners later—Hammond Sheet Metal still operates at 105 North Fifth Street, providing heating and air conditioning service to the area.

Floydada softball team rolls up 8-0 mark in district play

Body The Floydada softball program has picked up right where it left off last season, cranking out victories and racking up impressive performances.The Lady Winds are 18-4-1 overall and 8-0 in District 4-2A play following a 14-7 defeat of Sudan over the holiday weekend.

Whirlwind baseball team looks to shake off slow start, get back on track

Body It’s been a tough start for the Floydada baseball team, but the season isn’t over, and the Whirlwinds still have time to string some solid performances together.That work begins in Floydada on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. double-header against District 4-2A opponent Ralls.
