Body There’s nothing like the magic that happens under the stadium lights in a small West Texas town on a Friday night.Folks spiff up, come into town and cheer the youngsters they’ve known since they were toddlers. It seems like in a blink of an eye, they’ll be grown and gone.

Body For the second year in a row, Floydada had to deal with an untimely rash of injuries that disrupted the Whirlwinds’ plans.But, despite a tough year that saw the team finish 2-8, head coach J.R. Compton has reason for optimism entering the 2025 season.

Body The Floydada Whirlwinds fell to the Tulia Hornets last Friday night for their first loss of the season. Tulia dominated the game by scoring twenty-two points in the first quarter, sixteen points in the second quarter, and eight points in the third quarter.
