Floyd County schools to honor veterans next week

Body Floydada Collegiate High School’s student council will be recognizing local military veterans with a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center.
FLOYDADA TAKES FIRST On Friday, Nov 1, the Floydada FFA welding team traveled to Perryton, Texas, to compete in the 3rd Annual Ranger Build-Off. These students put in a full day of hard work. Congratulations go to Dustin Zavala, Diego Martinez, Robert Luna, Jr. and Josemaria Lara for taking home first place in the event, earning a spot in the State Build-Off this coming April! Josemaria Lara earns a special shout-out for finishing second in the Cutting Torch Race. | FLOYDADA FFA PHOTOS

Body FLOYDADA’S FOOTBALL SEASON DAMPENED BY LOSS TO POSTThere was a 50% chance of precipitation in last Friday night’s district game with Post. While the inclement weather held off, the Antelopes did not hold back, flooding the endzone on their way to a 73-3 win over Floydada.
