Body The Floydada Whirlwinds and Lady Winds track and field teams competed in the 2A Region 1 track meet at West Texas A&M University May 1 and 2. Floydada competed against schools from Districts 1 through 8 for an opportunity to advance to the State track meet.

Longhorns fall to Floydada in season finale

Body The Lockney Longhorns hosted Memphis on April 21 for their final home stand of the regular season. The Longhorns hoped to avoid backto- back losses after losing their game to Wellington on April 18.Lockney led 10-2 after the second inning.

Lady Horns’ season ends in bi-district round

Whirlwinds clinch district championship

Body The Floydada Whirlwinds baseball team hosted the Wellington Skyrockets on April 14. The Whirlwinds entered the game tied for first place in the district standings.The Whirlwinds took an early 4-1 lead after the second inning.

Body The #4 Floydada Lady Winds hosted the Clarendon Lady Broncos on April 14. The Lady Winds entered the game having already clinched a playoff berth, and a victory over Clarendon would put them one step closer to a district championship.
