AREAS OF THE TEXAS PANHANDLE AND PLAINS saw snow and ice last week, and although the frozen stuff didn’t stay long the roads were treacherous for a while on Wednesday. Newspaper carrier Johnathan Brewer took this view heading north between Lockney and Silverton. Snow is pre-dicted again for Feb. 3, with near-zero temperatures through much of the region.
