Floydada basketball: ‘F.T.T’— and all of it mattered

Body 216 or so Texas basketball programs made up class 2A, and out of all those towns, Floydada made it to the “Elite 8” in the UIL Regional Finals. And even with the loss, it all mattered.

Body Regardless of your status (with regard to schoolage children), spring break provides a welcome pause. Treating yourself to an afternoon drive or a weeklong getaway is fun. We live in a beautiful state. Most of you also reside in an area of Texas rich in history.

Body Texas once again has topped the list for new and expanded corporate facilities added in a year, according to Site Selection Magazine. With 1,028 new projects in 2022, the state had more than the next two states combined – Illinois and Ohio.

Street takeover spurs governor’s action

Body Gov. Greg Abbott has created a statewide task force after several “street takeovers” recently took place in Austin in which motorists obstructed intersections, shot off fireworks and drove recklessly.

South Plains College to host songwriting contest

Body songwriter? South Plains College will host a Songwriting Contest for aspiring talent in the West Texas area. Sponsored by SPC’s Commercial Music Department, the winner of the contest will be featured during Fest Week on March 30 in the Tom T. Hall Studio.
