Floydada tracksters advance to Region 1-2A Track & Field

Body The Area Track and Field meet was held last Thursday at Charles Tyer Stadium in Floydada. Floydada has several athletes that will advance to the Region 1-2A track and field championships in Canyon. Whirlwind Jayson Cooper will be going in four events.

Lady Winds win back-to-back District 2-3A softball District Championship

Body LADY WINDS 19 LADY JACKRABBITS 3 The Floydada Lady Winds won a big district game on Tuesday with a 19-3 win over the Ralls Lady Jackrabbits at Dag Azam Field in Ralls. With this win the Lady Winds claimed the 3-2A softball championship for two years in a row.

Lockney regional tracksters advance

Body The Lockney Track Program has several athletes who will compete in Canyon at West Texas A&M University on April 22 and 23. Felix Gonzales placed 3rd in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.36. Adaliyah Jones placed 4th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.41.

Longhorns baseball team win 2 over Mustangs; luck fails to hold for Lady Horns

Body The Longhorns went into the Easter weekend with another sweep of their opponent. The Longhorns defeated the Olton Mustangs on a dusty Tuesday in Olton and then under more pleasant conditions at home on Good Friday. The Horns move to a 5-3 record.
