Floydada is no stranger to the grind, finding a way to log two more District 4-2A victories last week and staying in the thick of the league race.

It was a different week, but a familiar result for the Floydada girls basketball team as they collected a pair of District 4-2A victories last week.
The Lady Winds improved their overall record to 20-6 with wins against Ralls and Olton.

The Whirlwinds ran away from Ralls en route to a 97-54 victory on the road before fending off rival Olton 61-47 in a home contest.

Floydada girls and boys powerlifting teams competed in Plainview on Saturday, Jan. 13, with two individuals finishing first in their weight classes. The boys team finished second overall.
In weight class 114, Rilynn Hinsley finished 4th.
