Body The Floydada Whirlwinds and Lady Winds track and field teams competed in the 2A Region 1 track meet at West Texas A&M University May 1 and 2. Floydada competed against schools from Districts 1 through 8 for an opportunity to advance to the State track meet.

Body The Lockney Longhorns hosted Memphis on April 21 for their final home stand of the regular season. The Longhorns hoped to avoid backto- back losses after losing their game to Wellington on April 18.Lockney led 10-2 after the second inning.

Body The Floydada Whirlwinds baseball team won its first district championship since the 2017 season on April 24 against the Lockney Longhorns.The Whirlwinds defeated Quanah on April 21, 13-6, to put themselves in a position to clinch the district championship.
