LOCKNEY BAND HONORS The Lockney Longhorn Band brought home two more awards this season. 1st Place in 2A, and Outstanding Small School Brass (1A-3A) from the historic Tumbleweed Marching Band Festival in Denver City. The Longhorn Band scored higher than all 1A, 2A, 3A, and a couple of 4A schools and ended up in the top exhibition slot that evening -- which ended up being a much stronger performance. Whirlwinds host Olton for district opener

Body The Floydada Whirlwinds will host the Olton Mustangs for their district opener on Friday, Oct. 10. Floydada had last week off for their bye week. The Whirlwinds hope to secure their first victory of the season and begin their push towards the playoffs.
