A dawn of a new era has reached Lockney ISD and Floydada CISD as both schools have new athletic directors for the 2026–27 school year.
Jeff Smith takes over as athletic director for the Whirlwinds after J.R. Compton stepped down at the end of last season.
Meanwhile, Michael Lewis leads the Lockney Longhorns after coach Jonathan Thiebaud departed for Floydada CISD.
