In a game battled out in extreme weather Monday, Feb. 21, the Floydada Lady Winds lived up to their mascot’s image as the city was buffeted by gusts up to 68 miles per hour.
It was the first contest on the school’s new softball complex— which was officially named Lady Winds Field at the last Floydada CISD board meeting—and the winning Winds varsity squad blew away the Muleshoe Lady Mules 12–0.
