Winners announced in Floyd County Soil & Water District poster and essay contests

Body The Floyd County Soil & Water Conservation District recently hosted their annual poster and essay contest for local elementary school students. Third, fourth and fifth grades participated in the poster contest; fifth grade also participated in the essay contest.
Floydada High School student Brittney Machado will be moving on to compete at the State UIL Meet in Austin after becoming a finalist in the Barbara Jordan Historical Essay contest. Body In the school accountabililty data released by the Texas Education Association last week, Floydada CISD received a rating of B on student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps with an overall grade of B.
