Body From the gardenThe Knox County Safety Rest Area landscape qualifies as a xerophytic mini-botanic garden. Xerophytic plants are those that are able to survive in environments with little water. The term ‘xerophyte’ comes from the Greek xeros, meaning dry, and phyton, meaning plant.
