Meet the folks behind Lockney’s Pope Meat Company

Body After more than a decade working in meat processing and experience with the successful Pope Barbeque catering company, Brayden Pope has opened a new family business in Lockney called Pope Meat Company, which provides processing for local farmers and ranchers.
Lake Mackenzie is located in Briscoe County, 12 miles northwest of Silverton and 27 miles east of Tulia. Operated by Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority, the lake was created to furnish water to member cities of Floydada, Lockney, Silverton and Tulia. Lake Mackenzie sees 10-foot rise

Body Lake Mackenzie, a vital water source for Floyd and Briscoe Counties, has reached depths of 74 feet after quite a bit of rain has continued to fall in the area. Last year at this time, the lake was at 64.70 feet, indicating a rise of over 10 feet.
