Body From the gardenOctober is garlic planting time. As a cool season vegetable garlic cloves size up in the cool spring and mature the following summer. Planting cloves in the warm autumn soils gives a headstart in establishing a strong root system before freezing temperatures set in.

Body Area businesses are planning their booths as the Floydada Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture prepares to host the 38th Annual Floydada Punkin Days downtown in the “Pumpkin Capital of the USA” Oct. 11.

Body This year, “Pumpkin Capital USA” has been busy loading trucks with a bigger and better crop than last year’s. According to Jacob Reddy, Floydada’s Pumpkin Pyle, has had a good harvest.“We have plenty of quality pumpkins,” said Reddy.
