Body Floydada Coop Gin ginned the first bale of cotton in Floydada and Floyd County on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 at 12:10 p.m.The dryland cotton was grown by producers S&J Farms (Steve Lloyd and Shane Lloyd), on the Home Place Dryland farm. The landlord is Lloyd Bypass Trust.

Body FLOYDADA COLLEGIATE ISD will hold a district-wide open house on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Duncan Elementary will have their Open House from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Families will tour the classrooms and enjoy refreshments. Floydada High School’s Open House will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
