Country Christmas Ball gives $10K to each VFD

Body LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS GET DONATION Wendell and Dustee Sollis presented the Floydada and Lockney Volunteer Fire Departments each with a $10,000 check from the annual Country Christmas Ball held Dec. 4 at the Floyd County Friends Unity Center in Muncy.

SPOTLIGHT ON 7TH ANNUAL COUNTRY CHRISTMAS BALL

Body On the first Saturday in December, skirts swirled and boots scooted and tunes rang out at the Floyd County Friends Unity Center—and local fire departments reaped the benefit of $10,000 each raised by the seventh annual Country Christmas Ball.

Body The South Plains Hobby Club met the South Plains Baptist Church in South Plains, Texas, on Dec.8, 2021 at 12 noon for our Christmas luncheon. Helen Teeple, our president, read a prayer written by Robert Louis Stevenson and afterward prayed for our lunch. Time for lunch.

Lockney Senior Center News

Body The Center will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 22 through Monday, Jan. 3 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. We will NOT be serving breakfast til further notice. The Center is available for rentals for your dances, reunions, baby showers.

Floydada Senior Citizens News

Body The Center is now open three days a week. We are serving lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We offer dinein, carry-out or delivery. On Wednesdays we will be selling meals to go for $5. Meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays are $7.
