Body Jim and Denise Doucette of Lockney, Texas, are happy to announce the engagement of their son, Patrick Anthony Doucette to Iris Raquel Jiron Montenegro, daughter of Marling Jiron and Carmen Montenegro and her son, Eduardo Ernesto, seven years old, of Ocotal, Nicaragua.

High Plains Dairy Conference set in Amarillo

Body The High Plains Dairy Conference will be March 1-2 in the Embassy Suites, 550 S. Buchanan St. in Amarillo. Conference chairs expect about 300 dairy industry representatives from across the U.S. to attend.

Body The Texas Land Trends program of the Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute, a part of Texas A&M AgriLife, has released the 2022 Landowner Survey for landowners who own or operate private working lands in Texas.

Floydada Senior Citizens News

Body The Center is now open three days a week. We are serving lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We offer dine-in, carry-out or delivery. On Wednesdays we will be selling meals to go for $5. Meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays are $7.

Lockney Senior Center News

Body The Center will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21 for Presidents’ Day. Annual membership dues for the Center for 2022 are now due and can be sent to the Center. Membership fee remains the same at $30 per year per person.

Aguirre named new postmaster for Floydada

Body The Floydada post office has a new staffer in charge, but don’t call her “postmistress.” Esmeralda Aguirre of Plainview has worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Floydada for eight years, and she took over the position of postmaster earlier this year.
