Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Jennifer Harris to the Governor’s Broadband Development Council for a term set to expire on August 31, 2024. Additionally, the Governor has named Floyd County Judge Marty Lucke as chair of the council and Harris as vice-chair.

The Floyd County Soil and Water Conservation District in Floydada sponsored a poster contest for third through fifth grades, for students to interpret a conservation theme.
This year’s theme was “Healthy Soils Healthy Life.” Each winner won a ribbon and a cash prize.
