Texas bats to emerge soon

Body Bats are beginning to become active in some southern parts of the state, and while cold fronts could reduce activity, it is a good time for the public to be aware of the benefits and risks associated with Texas species.

Trevino selected to play in Golden Spread High School All-Star basketball game

Body Floydada Collegiate High School senior Erin Trevino has been selected to play in the annual Golden Spread High School All-Star Games to be held April 7–9 at the First United Center on the campus of the West Texas A&M University in Canyon.

4-hit day for de la Fuente as Lady Winds blast Lady Lions

Body The first district game for the Lady Winds was played during spring break on March 15 at Lady Winds Field. Clarissa de la Fuente was dialed in at the plate, tallying four hits and leading the Floydada Lady Winds to a 14–3 win over the New Deal Lady Lions.

Five RBI day for Kaley Garza brings district win for Floydada over New Deal, 15-3

Body In the Lady Winds’ second district game was played at New Deal March 19, Kaley Garza showed timely hitting, driving in five on two hits to lead the Lady Winds past New Deal. Garza drove in runs on a home run in the third and a double in the fourth.
