Powerhouse cookies pack a nutritious punch

Body My constant craving for peanut butter cookies has me frequently experimenting, on a pretty regular basis. I stand by my belief that peanut butter or oatmeal cookies offer sustenance and good nutrition. These two cookies, combined, are a powerhouse of protein and fiber.

Matador Laundry now open

Body The Matador Laundry, located at 811 Bailey next door to Motley Farm & Ranch Supply, is now open to the public, according to proprietor Pat Smith. The facilty includes four washers (one high-capacity) and six energy-efficient dryers.

Body Floyd County Judge Marty Lucke was honored on Oct. 5 for his completion of a voluntary advanced course on county government titled Commissioners Court Advanced Curriculum.

Body FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF FLOYDADA will hold their Fall Festival on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. It’s for kids through fifth grade. The festival will be held on FBC’s back parking lot (weather permitting). They are accepting candy donations.

Texas pumpkin yields down, demand sky-high

Body Texas pumpkin producers experienced a second sub-par season in a row, as drought conditions led to fewer management issues, but lower yields, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts. However, lower yields were translating into higher prices and demand.
