Body LOCKNEY CITY COUNCIL HIGHLY CONTESTED WITH 8 CANDIDATES Filing for city and school board elections in Floyd County ended February 17. The City of Floydada expects to cancel its election, as there were no contested positions.

Governor names Quitaque attorney DA for 110th

Body Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Emily Teegardin as district attorney of the 110th Judicial District in Briscoe, Dickens, Floyd, and Motley counties for a term set to expire December 31, 2024 or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.

Body The Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum will host a “You’re Beautiful! Style Show” Saturday, March 25 at 3 p.m. to benefit the American Cancer Society and to help cancer survivors through inspiration and connection.
HISTORIC HONORS The Floydada Whirlwinds boys varsity basketball team is on the verge of making history this week. They have already tied a school record with 30 wins in one season, and if they prevailed over Sudan Tuesday night, will set a new record with 31 wins, and that’s before they have their third shoot-out of the year with Olton to determine who will be the #1 seed going into the post-season.
