Local municipal, school board election filings ended

Body LOCKNEY CITY COUNCIL HIGHLY CONTESTED WITH 8 CANDIDATES Filing for city and school board elections in Floyd County ended February 17. The City of Floydada expects to cancel its election, as there were no contested positions.

Whirlwinds win seeding game over Olton at Wayland in front of capacity crowd

Governor names Quitaque attorney DA for 110th

Body Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Emily Teegardin as district attorney of the 110th Judicial District in Briscoe, Dickens, Floyd, and Motley counties for a term set to expire December 31, 2024 or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
