Body Coach J. R. Compton’s Whirlwinds shook off a quiet start to make a loud statement, defeating Smyer 42–20 on the Bobcats’ homecoming night. Floydada’s third win of the season now sets up a big showdown Friday when undefeated and state-ranked New Home comes to town.

Body Heat and drought have taken a toll on Texas crop production. Limited production of corn and sorghum and the unknown future have caused prices for those crops to spike, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert.

Body The 101st meeting on a 100yard field did not disappoint as Floydada and Lockney came to play. The Whirlwinds, led by junior quarterback Tyrean Henderson, lifted the traditional Floyd County trophy after the 35–21 win over Lockney.
