FEBRUARY Bi-DISTRICT CHAMPS One of the most memorable seasons in recent Floydada girls basketball history came to an end in February as the Lady Winds dropped a 60-40 decision to No. 9-ranked Gruver in a Class 2A area-round playoff game, but ended their season as Bi-istrict champs.

MARCH QUARTERFINAL CHAMPS The Floydada Whirlwinds opened the playoffs with a 75-67 bi-district win against Bovina. The Whirlwinds have now run off a dozen straight wins, then went on to win Quarterfinals.

APRIL NEW NAME, SAME TEAM Lockney Co-op Gin closed for one day—March 31, 2023, at the end of the fiscal year—and reopened April 1, 2023 as Cotton Wide Gin, LLC.
