HAVE PUNKIN’ DAY! Stopping to enjoy a photo session were longtime friends Heather McClellan of Lubbock (left) and Britney Griffin of Lago Vista, Texas. Both attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and were sorority sisters. Britney was in Lubbock visiting for the weekend and they decided to come to Floydada to see what Punkin’ Days was all about. Body Floydada’s legendary pumpkin reputation and a beautiful day helped make the city’s 37th annual Punkin’ Day festivities wonderful for everyone in attendance.
CONGRATULATIONS LOCKNEY BAND for earning 1st Place in 2A at the Lubbock Westerner Contest held Saturday. This contest only has two caption awards - Percussion (Lockney 2nd Place) and Guard (Lockney 2nd Place). Overall 'all classes' ranking for the Longhorn Band was 3rd.
