The 11th annual Country Christmas Ball benefitting the Floyd County Firefighters is coming soon, according to organizers—and participants are welcome from all over. The fun-filled night will begin at 5 p.m. December 6, 2025 at the Floyd County Friends’ Unity Center.
The biggest question folks have been asking promoter Dustee Sollis, though: Will famed pianist Lucy Dean Record—who not too long ago moved to assisted living from her home in Lockney—be able to grace the stage again this year?
“The answer is Yes!” said Sollis. She explained that in order to accommodate Record’s wheelchair, the keyboard will be situated on the floor level rather than the stage this year. But dancers and listeners can still expect the same toe-tapping tunes they’ve grown to love, from the 101-year-old keyboard artist.
