D & J Gin gins first bale of cotton in Floyd County

    D & J Gin in Lockney ginned the first bale of cotton in Floyd County for the season on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2021 at approximately 10:30 a.m. The cotton was grown by Jimmy Collins and produced on the Wisner place, located near the Lake View area west of Petersburg.

    The producer harvested the cotton on Thursday, Oct. 7. Deltapine 1822 XF was the cotton variety. The field was treated with Prep and Gi…
