A year and a half ago, after finishing chemotherapy, Mandy Vela’s daughter introduced her to the health benefits of açaí bowls, and a new idea began to bloom. After a year of planning and refurbishing a 1979 vintage trailer, Bloom Berries opened for business on Monday, June 22 in the lot at 119 W. California Street, between Nutthouse Designs and the Wild Hare Salon.
