Body Kaitlyn Vega, a senior at Floydada Collegiate High School, is the daughter of Armando Chavarria, Jr. and Amy Vega. She has been a part of the Floydada FFA for four years.

Whirlwind girls cross country team advances to Regionals

Body In District cross country results, Floydada cross country girls (below) received 2nd place and advanced to Regionals. The Regional Track Meet is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 25 at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.

Body Thomas Longoria, a senior at Floydada Collegiate High School, is the son of Lionel Longoria and Bineta Valdes. He has been a part of the Whirlwind bands for five years. “What I like most about the FCHS band is the food,” commented Longoria.

Lockney runners advance in District cross country

Body In District competition last week, Lockney’s girls team advanced to Regionals, while individual runners Alberto SotoGonzales and and Jonathan Cienfuegos (below right) advanced to Regionals for the boys team. Anyone who finished top 10 on varsity advanced.

4-H Grilling Games

Body Austin Phillips placed first (High Point Grill Master) in the intermediate division at the District 2 4-H Grilling Games held Saturday, Oct. 16 at Patterson Park in Wolfforth. The event was sponsored by United Supermarkets.
