Body With district schedules approaching shortly after the new year, Floyd County Basketball wraps the fall 2021 season. The Lady Horns and Longhorns traveled to Post on Dec. 17. In a slow start for the Lady Horns, the momentum did not shift their way until the 4th quarter.

Body Floyd County teams Lockney and Floydada boys and girls have gone undefeated in their respective tournaments over the weekend. Teams from around the Panhandle as far north as Quanah and as far south as Sands made their way to play in both towns.

Whirlwinds take Tahoka Tournament

Body The Floydada Whirlwinds basketball team took the top slot in the Tahoka Tournament last Saturday by beating Forsan 66–64. Leading scorers for this game were Braun Hobbs with 17 points, Abram Castillo with 16 points, Aiden Trevino with 14 and Jayson Cooper with 12 points.

Body Floyd County basketball went and represented itself well going into the first week of December. The Floydada Whirlwinds won the Tahoka High School tournament, defeating Forsan 66–64. Abram Castillo had a career-high 40 points in the game against Lorenzo.
