Body

Bobbie Jo Thomas Sue, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and greatgrandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the age of 94.

Bobbie was born on September 1, 1931, in Wood County, Texas, to Elijah Albert Thomas and Ollie Mae Nichols Thomas. She was raised in Wood County before marrying the love of her life, Henry (Buddy) Sue, on September 12, 1947. Shortly after their marriage, the couple relocated to Floyd County in 1948, where they established their home and lives.

Buddy was a devoted farmer, and Bobbie was his steadfast partner, helping out on the farm in countless ways. She also served her community diligently, running the local mail route for 25 years, a role she cherished for the connection it gave her to her neighbors. Bobbie was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Lockney, Texas, living a life anchored in faith. She talked to Jesus every day, reflecting the deep and personal nature of her spiritual commitment.

For Bobbie, her family was everything. She poured her time and energy into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, enjoying every moment of playing games, visiting, and taking care of them. Her warmth and devotion created a central gathering place for generations.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her mother, her father, her six sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her devoted children: her son, Bennie Sue and his wife, Sue, of Mount Vernon, Texas; and her daughter, Peggy Lambert and her husband, Richard (Dickie) Lambert, of Quitaque, Texas. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her six grandchildren; Christie Morrison and husband, Timothy, of Lubbock, Texas, Connie Cribbs and husband, Steven, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jeri Rexrode and husband, Heath, of Lockney, Texas, Trudi Fierros and husband, Marcus, of Amarillo, Texas, Casey Lambert and wife, Amber, of Lockney, Texas, and Becky Price of Aubrey, Texas; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of the Bee Hive in Floydada for their kind and attentive care of Bobbie, and a special thanks to Shonda Guthrie of Interim Hospice Care for her compassionate support.
