Body The 95th Annual Old Settlers’ Day is set for Saturday, May 24, 2025. The quilt competition will be held in the Barrow Building west of the Floyd County Historical Museum.The quilt show is for all who like and appreciate quilts.

Winners announced in Floyd County Soil & Water District poster and essay contests

Body The Floyd County Soil & Water Conservation District recently hosted their annual poster and essay contest for local elementary school students. Third, fourth and fifth grades participated in the poster contest; fifth grade also participated in the essay contest.
Floydada High School student Brittney Machado will be moving on to compete at the State UIL Meet in Austin after becoming a finalist in the Barbara Jordan Historical Essay contest. Her essay is one of the top six in the state. The essay will be judged and officially archived at the University of Texas in May. | COURTESY PHOTO
