Body STATE FINALIST Congratulations go to Floydada Collegiate High School senior Brittney Machado for becoming a state finalist in the UIL Barbra Jordan Historical Essay contest. She will read and compete for a top 10 spot in the UIL State contest in Austin on May 18, 2026.

Body Congratulations go to Floydada’s Tiffiny Perez, who finished in 4th place in news writing at the UIL regional academic meet at West Texas A&M in Canyon last week. She will be an alternate for the State meet.

Body Floydada Collegiate High School junior Noah Fierros submitted a photograph to Rep. Jodey Arrington’s office for their annual Congressional Art Competition. His photo was selected as the winner and will be put on display in the U.S. Capitol. He will travel to Washington, D.C.
