Body The Floydada Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual recognition banquet Wednesday, Jan. 13, to celebrate members of the community who have contributed individually or as a business.Floydada City Manager Darrell Gooch was honored as citizen of the year for 2025.
$15K TO EACH FIRE DEPT. The Floyd County Volunteer Fire Departments received a record $30,000 from the Country Christmas Ball held in December. Dustee Sollis and Wendell Sollis made the presentation to Floydada Fire Chief Chad Guthrie and Lockney Fire Chief Donnie McLaughlin. The Country Christmas Ball , hosted by Wendell Sollis and the Sidekicks All Star Band, will be held again in 2026 at the Floyd County Friends Unity Center. | COURTESY PHOTO

Body Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, has announced the students achieving the Dean's List designation for the 2025 fall semester.To be eligible for the ASU Dean’s List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
