“At what age did you start smoking?”
That was the first question on the register-ahead-oftime questionnaire I filled out for my orthopedist. I’m not blaming him. He’s probably never eyeballed one of those questionnaires — either filled out or not.
My response was something like this: “Is this a trick question? I’ve never smoked. When I smoke my first pack, you’ll be the first know.”
