Floydada Chamber gives scholarships to two Floydada students

Body The Floydada Chamber of Commerce scholarships are chosen annually by the Chamber board and are given to students who have volunteered for events throughout high school. Selected for the Floydada Collegiate ISD Class of 2023 were Tatum Glassock and Izaih Alvarado.

Body Floydada ISD is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children 1-18 years of age. Floydada ISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, or disability in the course of the meal services.

Floyd County students named to SPC Spring 2023 Deans’ List

Body South Plains College congratulates the nearly 700 students who were named to the spring 2023 Deans’ List. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.25 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Lira graduates as part of WTAMU’s Class of 2023

Body CANYON— The final tally is 1,110 graduates for West Texas A&M University’s Class of May 2023. One of the graduates was from Floydada, Jose David Lira, who earned a B.S. degree in agriculture business and economics.

Harmony Plains Singing School returns to South Plains July 16-21

Body Travelers driving up U.S. Highway 62 in Crosby County may recognize the red-brick schoolhouse at Cone that leaves them with questions. This tiny village just outside Floyd County established a post office in 1903. It had a general store, churches, and small businesses at one time.
