Whirlwinds begin season against Bovina

The Floydada Whirlwinds are scheduled to begin their 2026 football season this week against Bovina on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Whirlwinds and the Mustangs are meeting for the first time on the football field. Last season, Bovina reached the 2A Division 2 regional semifinal after finishing in fourth place in their district standings.
