The Floydada Whirlwind varsity basketball team travelled to Mertzon, Texas, to play in the Irion Tournament held during the Christmas break Wednesday, Dec. 28 through Friday, Dec. 30.
In their first game of the tournament, the ’Winds win against McMullen County Cowboys, the 4th ranked team in the state in 1A. The ’Winds won by a score of 70-54.
