Zulema Gonzales

LZulema Gonzales, age 61, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at 4:59 p.m.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Trinity Life Church in Plainview, Texas. Interment followed at the Lockney Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Zulema was born on June 26, 1960, in Lockney, Texas to Oscar and Victoria Martinez. She was a resident of Plainview, Texas, and a longtime resident of Lockney, Texas.

Zulema enjoyed all 17 of her grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Her hobbies included playing bingo with her big group of friends, softball (playing and coaching), music, especially Tejano (it was her favorite), and she was good at it too!

Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends; it was important to her. She will be remembered as the Tia who had a nickname for everyone, loved everyone to no limit and had a positive spirit, always. She was a stranger to no one. Zulema was and always will be present because she lives in all of us.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Martinez and Victoria Martinez; and her sister, Deborah Martinez and husband, Gary Gonzales.

She is survived by her four children: daughters, Debrah Ballejo and Camille Gonzales and sons Timothy Ballejo and Cameron Gonzales. Zulema is also survived by three siblings: her brother, Oscar Martinez and wife, Norma; her sister, Bertha Crawford and husband, Dennis; and her sister; Gloria Zuniga and husband, Tony.
