Steve was born October 2, 1954, to James Louis and Ferne Stovall Anderson in Spur, Texas.
Steve attended Floydada schools and proudly graduated in the FHS Class of 1973. Steve always said that he was in the best class Floydada ever had, and still remains close to his classmates. This class holds the record to advancing in football state playoffs making quarterfinal champions.
He attended West Texas State University for a short time, when he realized that he only wanted to marry his high school sweetheart. Steve and Donna married on April 20, 1974, and from this union they were blessed with two sons: Brady in 1977, and Todd in 1982.
Steve’s lineman career started in 1974 at South Plains Electric Cooperative. He then had the opportunity to move back to Floydada and go to work at Lighthouse Electric Cooperative, from which he retired after 35 years.
Steve was known for his wit, joke telling, and making people laugh. He loved cookouts with his family and being the selector of all music played. Steve never met a stranger and was known for his questions and conversations. Steve enjoyed coaching his sons’ Little League teams and working with them on their show animals.
Other than his sons, the light of his life were his five granddaughters, referred to as the” fab five.”
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ferne Anderson.
