PLAINVIEW—Nolan N. Arney of Plainview, Texas, and beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, lineman and friend, went to his eternal home Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the age of 90.

Funeral services celebrating his life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Seth Ward Baptist Church. Chaplain Carl Hartman officiated.

Interment followed in Parklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021.

Nolan was born December 19, 1930 in Chicota, Texas, to Henry Thomas and Rosalie Arney.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Julie Eddy December 22, 1971 in Plainview.

Nolan retired in 2005 after fifty-three years aand seven months as a lineman with Lighthouse Electric Cooperative in Floydada. He truly loved his work and enjoyed those with whom he worked.

He was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church.

The legacy of Nolan’s life are his family and those who called him friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julie Arney of Plainview; daughters Jill Arney of Lubbock and Jennifer Arney-Cuevas and husband, Carlos, of Houston; sons Jeff Arney and wife, Dee, of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Steve Arney and wife, Debbie, of Burleson, Texas; sisters Nathalie Blackburn of Fort Worth, Texas, Beth Parson of Arthur City, Texas, and Freda Vandeburg of Austin; grandchildren Tylar, Jessi, Ethan, Lillian, William, Jeffrey Bryan, Justin, Jessica, Aaron, Heather and Amber; and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Jason Arney, three brothers and two sisters.
